Welcome!
I study how the value of representation shapes social inequality. I focus on the topical areas of
Race and ethnicity
Gender and sexuality
Religion
Class
Incarceration
using methodologies like
Conjoint experiments
Surveys
Qualitative and quantitative content analysis
Computational text analysis
but as a social science researcher I often find myself working beyond these areas to answer the questions I care about. For this reason, I’m lucky to have found many wise friends in sociology and beyond who generously gift their time to the questions I want to ask and answer:
Why does representation matter?
How can we measure the impact of representation on inequality?
